Airstream Interstate Recall 25V450: Awning Can Extend While Driving, Risking Detachment

NHTSA campaign 25V450, reported July 9, 2025, 244 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain Interstate motorhomes, the Parametric Special Module (PSM) may fail to lock the controls. This can allow the awning to be extended while the vehicle is in transit.

An extended awning can detach from the motorhome and become a road hazard for other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

An authorized dealer will correct the PSM pinning assignment at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2025. You can contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411, and you should check your VIN for any open recalls.
