Mazda CX-50 Recall 25V413: Air Bag May Deploy Improperly, Raising Crash Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V413, reported June 18, 2025, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Mazda CX-50 and CX-50 Hybrid vehicles have air bag restraint control module software that may be incorrectly configured. As a result, an air bag may deploy improperly.

An air bag that deploys improperly increases the risk of injury during a crash. Because the software problem affects how the air bags are controlled, it is a safety concern for occupants in a collision.

Dealers will update the air bag module software at no cost to you. Because these vehicles are under Mazda dealer control, owners will not receive a mailed notification. You can contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6, or check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
