Dodge Charger EV Recall 25V389: Charger EV May Not Emit Pedestrian Warning Sound

NHTSA campaign 25V389, reported June 12, 2025, 8,390 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024-2025 Dodge Charger EVs may have an amplifier that is missing software. Without it, the amplifier may not emit exterior sound, including pedestrian warnings. These vehicles also do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 141 for minimum sound requirements for hybrid electric vehicles.

A vehicle that does not make sound may fail to alert pedestrians that it is moving, which raises the risk of a crash or injury.

Dealers will inspect the amplifier and update its software if needed, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 26, 2025. You can contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 (recall 44C), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
