- Risk
- In the event of a crash, insufficient impact protection can increase the risk of injury.
- Remedy
- Dealers will modify the roof lining and C-pillar trim, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 9, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
What this recall means for you
Certain 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC and AMG GLC vehicles equipped with a panoramic sunroof may not meet a federal occupant protection standard. In certain crashes, a rear passenger's head can strike the C-pillar, and the pillar may not absorb enough of that impact.
If a crash happens, this shortfall in impact protection can increase the risk of injury to a rear occupant. The vehicles were found not to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 201, which covers occupant protection in interior impacts.
The remedy is free. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will modify the roof lining and C-pillar trim at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed July 9, 2025. You can also call Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
