Mack Granite GR (4) Recall 25V352: Wrong load rating label can lead to axle overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 25V352, reported May 28, 2025, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2026 Mack Granite trucks were built with the incorrect drive axle brake drums installed. As a result, the load rating printed on the door jamb label is wrong. The label's weight information cannot be relied on, so the truck could be loaded beyond what its axles are rated to carry.

Overloading the axles raises the risk of a crash. Owners should not depend on the door label for load limits until the repair is completed.

An authorized Mack dealer will replace the brake drums at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed June 16, 2025. For questions, contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 and reference recall SC0472. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
