Kia K5 Recall 25V351: Parking lights may flicker, reducing visibility to others

NHTSA campaign 25V351, reported May 27, 2025, 82,281 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error in the Power-net Domain Controller on certain 2025 Kia K5 vehicles can cause the parking lights to flicker. The vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lighting.

Parking lights that do not illuminate properly can reduce how visible your vehicle is to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own a 2025 K5, check your VIN for open recalls and watch for flickering parking lights.

The remedy is a software update to the controller, free of charge. A dealer can perform it, or it may be delivered over the air. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2025. You can contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542, referencing recall SC341.
