What this recall means for you
The passenger air bag status indicator light on the dashboard may be loose or dislodged, so it may not be visible to occupants. This means the light may fail to show when an air bag is turned off, and the vehicle does not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.
If an air bag is deactivated but the warning light cannot be seen, occupants may not realize the air bag will not deploy in a crash, which increases the risk of injury.
Dealers will install air bag indicator light retaining clips at no charge. Ford mailed owner notification letters on June 24, 2025. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 25C17), and you can check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
