Ford F-150 Recall 25V348: Reverse lights may fail, raising crash risk when backing up

NHTSA campaign 25V348, reported May 23, 2025, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with the Onboard Scales feature were repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. A software update to the body control module, sent over the air, may have turned off both reverse lights. Without working reverse lights, other drivers and pedestrians may not realize your vehicle is backing up, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected truck, a dealer will update the body control module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 27, 2025. You can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, referencing Ford recall 25S57, and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.
