RAM Promaster Recall 25V330: Rearview Camera May Not Display, Raising Backover Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V330, reported May 21, 2025, 235,640 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error in the security gateway module can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. Without that image, the driver has less view of what is directly behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, particularly when backing up. These vehicles do not meet the federal rear visibility requirements (FMVSS 111) as a result.

Dealers will update the security gateway module software at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed June 12, 2025. If you have questions, you can contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 and reference recall number 40C.

You should also check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls and schedule the free software update with an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
