What this recall means for you

This recall covers certain 2020 Ford F-550 trucks fitted with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. If a short circuit or wiring failure occurs, the node's firmware may not shut off the output pin, so electrical circuits can become overloaded.

Overloaded circuits can overheat, which increases the risk of a fire. The remedy is a firmware update to the node, provided free of charge by Custom Truck in cooperation with Weldon. According to the notice, all affected vehicles have already been repaired.

If you own an affected vehicle, you can contact Custom Truck customer service at 1-888-712-2963 or Weldon Division of Akron Brass customer service at 1-800-228-1161. You can also check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle has any outstanding repairs.
