Brinkley RV Model Z Recall 25V286: Trailer Steps Can Detach While in Use, Risking Falls

NHTSA campaign 25V286, reported May 1, 2025, 1,607 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain fifth wheel travel trailers have a removable step assembly whose clip-on bracket mounting bolts may loosen over time. If the bolts come loose, the steps can detach while someone is using them.

Steps that detach during use raise the risk of injury from a fall. Owners should stop using the steps if they notice looseness or movement and avoid relying on them until the repair is completed.

Dealers will replace the clip-on bracket as necessary at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed May 21, 2025. For questions, contact Brinkley customer service at 1-574-501-4280 and reference recall REC-2502, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
