Volkswagen ID. Buzz Recall 25V269: Third-Row Seat Can Seat Three But Has Only Two Belts

NHTSA campaign 25V269, reported May 15, 2025, 5,644 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The third-row rear bench is wide enough for three passengers, but it is designed for two and has only two seat belts. This means it does not meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.

If more than two people sit on the third-row bench, there will not be enough seat belts for everyone. Occupants without a belt have a higher risk of injury in a crash.

Authorized dealers will install trim to adjust the width of the third-row seats at no cost to you. Volkswagen mailed owner notification letters on June 20, 2025. You can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 and reference recall 72LC, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
