Motiv F-53 BEV Chassis Recall 25V261: Bracket May Break, Causing Electrical Short and Power Loss

NHTSA campaign 25V261, reported April 18, 2025, 139 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019-2022 Motiv F-53 and F-59 battery-electric chassis equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain may have a support bracket that can fatigue and break. If the bracket fails, the main power disconnect can contact nearby structures and cause an electrical short.

An electrical short can shut down the high-voltage system, resulting in a loss of drive power, which increases the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2025.

Motiv field support technicians will replace the bracket free of charge. Owners can contact Motiv customer service at 1-650-458-4804, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
