Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Recall 25V254: Stability warning light may fail to alert drivers to a system fault

NHTSA campaign 25V254, reported April 17, 2025, 6,247 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles may display an incorrect warning light when the electronic stability program (ESP) system has failed. As a result, the driver may not be alerted to a critical safety problem with the stability system.

Because the warning light may not show that the ESP has failed, a driver could continue driving without knowing the stability system is not working. This increases the risk of a crash. The affected vehicles also do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 126 (Electronic Stability Control Systems) and 101 (Controls and Displays).

Dealers will update the ESP control unit software free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 17, 2025. You can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 (recall number 2025050002), and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
