What this recall means for you
The powertrain control module, which manages the engine and transmission, may reset while the vehicle is being driven. This can cause the engine to stall, leading to a sudden loss of drive power, or it can damage the park system so the vehicle may roll away after being placed in park without the parking brake applied. Either situation raises the risk of a crash.
The remedy is a free software update to the powertrain control module, performed by an authorized dealer. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2025. If you have questions, you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, quoting recall number 25S35.
To confirm whether your vehicle is affected, check your VIN for open recalls on NHTSA or Ford's website, and schedule the repair with an authorized Ford dealer as soon as possible. Until then, always apply the parking brake when parking.
