What this recall means for you
A wiring fault in the passenger occupant detection system can cause the front passenger air bag to deactivate even when the seat is occupied. The system is supposed to keep the airbag active when an adult is sitting in the seat, so this fault leaves the passenger without the protection the airbag is designed to provide.
If the passenger air bag is deactivated, the risk of injury increases during a crash. Owners should be aware that the front passenger airbag may not deploy as expected in a collision.
The remedy is free: an authorized Audi dealer will replace the seat cushion at no charge. Owners who received a notification letter mailed July 15, 2025 can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834, and anyone can check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
