Porsche Macan Electric Recall 25V220: Rearview camera may blur or fail, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 25V220, reported April 8, 2025, 8,571 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rearview camera on these vehicles may show a blurry image or fail to display anything at all. Because of this, the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111, which governs rear visibility.

A rearview camera that does not show an image reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, particularly while backing up. If your camera is blurry or goes blank, take extra care when reversing and use your mirrors and a visual check over your shoulder.

The repair is free. Authorized Porsche dealers will update the control unit software and inspect the rearview camera, replacing it if necessary. Owner notification letters were mailed May 23, 2025. You can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 (Porsche recall number ASA3), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
