Nissan Kicks Recall 25V188: Certification label may show wrong weight and wheel data

NHTSA campaign 25V188, reported April 17, 2025, 37,003 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some vehicles may have a certification label printed with incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Gross Axle Weight Rating values, which can lead to the vehicle being overloaded. On certain SR trim models with the optional 19-inch wheel package, the label may also list the wrong wheel size, which can lead to tires being inflated improperly.

An overloaded vehicle has a higher risk of crashing, and incorrect tire inflation can raise that risk as well. If you own a 2025 Kicks, check whether your vehicle is affected by checking your VIN for open recalls, and avoid loading your vehicle beyond the limits on the label until the correction is made.

Dealers will install new certification labels free of charge, and replacement labels will also be mailed to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2025. You can contact Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261, referencing recall numbers PD136 and PMA47.
