What this recall means for you
Certain 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS, 2017-2018 Cadillac ATS, 2017-2018 Chevrolet Camaro, and 2017 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles may have an electric power steering assist system that can fail. When the power assist is lost, the steering wheel requires much greater effort to turn, especially at low speeds.
This loss of assist increases the risk of a crash, because it becomes harder to steer the vehicle quickly and control it in traffic or while maneuvering. Owners should take this seriously and have their vehicle checked.
GM will replace the power steering gear assembly at authorized dealers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2025. To confirm whether your vehicle is included, contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, referencing GM recall number N252497020. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
