What this recall means for you
Certain Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator and Corsair vehicles from the 2020 to 2022 model years, plus some 2021 to 2023 models, were previously repaired incorrectly under an earlier recall. In these vehicles, the video output may fail, so the rearview camera image does not display on the screen.
Without the camera image, the driver has less rear visibility, which increases the risk of a crash, especially while backing up. Owners should be alert to a missing or blank rear camera display and avoid relying on it until the repair is completed.
The repair is free. Authorized dealers will update the Image Processing Module software at no charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 for questions, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls on the NHTSA website.
