Ford Maverick Recall 25V127: Low 12-Volt Battery May Go Undetected, Risking Power Loss

NHTSA campaign 25V127, reported February 28, 2025, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2022 Ford Maverick vehicles that were previously repaired under an earlier recall were repaired incorrectly. The body control module and powertrain control module may fail to detect a change in the state of charge of the 12-volt battery, so a weak battery can go unnoticed.

If the low charge is not detected, electrical accessories such as the hazard lights may stop working, or the vehicle may lose drive power. Either situation increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2025. You can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332, and you can check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
