Coachmen Catalina Recall 25V111: Incorrect weight label may lead to trailer overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 25V111, reported February 21, 2025, 1,833 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The Federal placard on certain travel trailers may list a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) that is higher than the rating of the safety chains. Because of this mismatch, the trailer may not meet the tire and wheel requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 110 and 120.

An incorrect weight rating can lead to unintentionally overloading the trailer. An overloaded trailer is more likely to be involved in a crash.

The remedy is free. Forest River will mail a corrected Federal placard with application instructions. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 24, 2025. To get the replacement placard, contact Forest River customer service at 574-825-4995, or Puma customer service at 1-574-642-0588 if your trailer is a Puma. Forest River's recall number is 51-1895. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
