Volvo VNL (4) Recall 25V102: Brakes May Take Longer to Engage, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V102, reported February 18, 2025, 8 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy trucks may have a brake air control problem: the brakes may take longer than expected to activate. This means the vehicle can fail to meet federal air brake safety requirements (FMVSS 121).

Delayed brake activation can lengthen the distance needed to stop, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and arrange service promptly.

The repair is free. Dealers will install a new pneumatic circuit at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2025. To confirm your vehicle is covered, check your VIN for open recalls, or contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 800-528-6586 and reference recall RVXX2502.
