Mercedes-Benz Esprinter Recall 25V090: Welds May Fail, Causing Loss of Drive Power and Rollaway Risk

NHTSA campaign 25V090, reported February 14, 2025, 689 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2024 eSprinter vans, the welds on a helical gear inside the rear axle drivetrain may fail. When this happens, the vehicle can lose drive power, which raises the risk of a crash. Drivetrain failure can also allow the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Dealers will replace the rear axle electric drivetrain free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 5, 2025. You can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 877-762-8267 and reference recall number V3ESCHWEI.

If you own a 2024 eSprinter, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer to schedule the free repair. Always apply the parking brake when parking the vehicle.
