What this recall means for you
Certain 2025 Rivian R1S and R1T vehicles may have low beam headlights that fail to illuminate when the vehicle is started in cold weather. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and associated equipment.
Reduced headlight output can lower visibility at night or in poor conditions, which increases the risk of a crash. Drivers should be aware of this possibility, especially when starting the vehicle in cold temperatures.
Rivian will replace the headlight control modules free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 22, 2025. To check whether your vehicle is affected, contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4261 (recall number FSAM-1612), and check your VIN for open recalls.
