Blue Bird ALL American School Bus Recall 25V003: Reversed headlight wiring can cause accidental high beams

NHTSA campaign 25V003, reported January 8, 2025, 91 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2024-2025 Blue Bird All American school buses, the wiring for the high and low beam headlights is incorrect. The high and low beams are reversed, and the high beam indicator can light up when it should not. As a result, these buses do not meet federal lighting requirements under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108.

The driver may inadvertently switch on the high beams without realizing it. High beams can dazzle and impair the vision of other drivers, including those on the road ahead and oncoming, which increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy is still being developed, so no repair is available yet. Owners were notified by mail on February 14, 2025. You can contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242 and reference recall number R25DH (SB). Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and watch for the repair, which is free at an authorized dealer once it becomes available.
