What this recall means for you
Some 2025 electric work trucks may have a pedestrian alert sound that is not loud enough. The vehicle's external warning noise may not reach a sufficient volume, so the truck does not fully meet federal minimum sound requirements for hybrid and electric vehicles.
The danger is that people walking nearby, including pedestrians who cannot see the truck approaching, may not realize a vehicle is coming. That raises the risk of a collision and injury.
The remedy is free. Authorized Chevrolet dealers will update the software in the body control module. Owners who received a notification letter, mailed January 22, 2025, can also contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and reference GM recall number N242483530. Check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
