Jeep Renegade Recall 24V918: Reverse Lights May Be Wrong Part, Hiding Backup Signal

NHTSA campaign 24V918, reported December 10, 2024, 2,135 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Jeep Renegade vehicles from the 2021 to 2023 model years may have an incorrect bumper reverse light assembly installed. The affected lights may not meet federal lighting standards, so the vehicle may not clearly show that it is backing up.

This matters because reduced visibility of the reverse lights can fail to alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is moving in reverse, which increases the risk of a crash.

Owners can have their dealer inspect the bumper reverse light assembly and replace it if needed, at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed January 30, 2025, and you can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number D7B). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
