Viking Travel Trailers Viking Recall 24V912: Propane Tank Can Detach From Trailer, Creating Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V912, reported December 6, 2024, 864 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024-2025 travel trailers have propane bottle bracket welds that may break. If a weld fails, the propane tank can detach from the trailer while driving.

A detached propane tank can become a road hazard for other drivers and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have their trailer checked promptly.

Authorized dealers will inspect the bottle bracket and replace it as needed, at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed January 2, 2025. You can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-269-467-8283 (recall number 121-1874), and check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
