What this recall means for you
Certain 2023-2024 fire trucks have front steer axle tires that are not compatible with the wheels they are mounted on. This means the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 for wheels and rims used on vehicles other than passenger cars.
Because of this mismatch, a tire can separate from its wheel, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk and follow the manufacturer's remedy.
Pierce Manufacturing will supply new front steer axle wheel and tire assemblies, along with updated tire information labels, at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2024. You can contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
