Brinkley RV Model Z Recall 24V885: Loose Hitch Bolts Could Let Trailer Detach

NHTSA campaign 24V885, reported November 22, 2024, 466 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Brinkley Model Z fifth wheel trailers may have pin box fasteners that were not tightened properly at the factory. Over time, these fasteners can loosen and fall out, which could allow the tow vehicle to separate from the pin box.

If the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle while driving, it creates a serious risk of a crash. Owners should be alert to this hazard and have their trailer checked promptly.

Authorized dealers will tighten the pin box fasteners free of charge. Owners who received a notification letter mailed December 12, 2024 can contact Brinkley customer service at 1-574-501-4280. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
