Forest River Cedar Creek Recall 24V883: Undersized Axles and Tires Can Detach, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V883, reported November 22, 2024, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2025 Forest River Cedar Creek fifth wheel trailers may have been built with undersized axles and tires. These parts do not meet federal wheel and rim safety requirements, and a tire can detach from the trailer while in use.

A detached tire increases the risk of a crash. The recall covers only a small number of trailers, and the two affected units have not been sold from dealer inventory, so no owner letters will be mailed. If you own or are considering a 2025 Cedar Creek CRT40RDE, contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-593-4000 and reference recall number 20-1873.

The remedy is free: dealers will replace the axles and tires at no charge. You can also check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
