Volkswagen ID.4 Recall 24V875: Rearview camera may go blank, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 24V875, reported November 20, 2024, 385 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rearview camera image may not appear on the display when the vehicle is put in reverse or when the park function is manually activated. This means the camera view can be missing when you need it most, and the vehicle no longer meets federal rear visibility requirements.

A blank rearview display reduces what you can see behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, especially when backing up.

Dealers will replace the peripheral camera control module free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 26, 2025. You can contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298, and you should check your VIN for open recalls.
