Trail King Tkht Recall 24V866: Trailer Subframe Can Crack, Risking Suspension Separation

NHTSA campaign 24V866, reported November 18, 2024, 396 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Trail King TKHT hydraulic tail trailers from model years 2020 through 2024 may have a problem with the suspension assembly. The suspension can flex the subframe beam over time, causing the beam to fatigue and crack.

A cracked subframe beam can allow the suspension to separate from the trailer, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own an affected trailer, do not ignore this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed November 25, 2024.

The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will install reinforcement supports and a larger reinforcement plate at no charge. To learn more or arrange the repair, contact Trail King customer service at 1-800-843-3324 and reference recall TK202402. You can also check your trailer's VIN for open recalls.
