Honda Metropolitan Recall 24V825: Fluid Leak Can Cause Sudden Loss of Drive Power

NHTSA campaign 24V825, reported November 1, 2024, 23,483 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Honda Metropolitan scooters may have an improperly sealed joint between the transmission case and the left-side crankcase. This can allow transmission fluid to leak out.

If the fluid leaks, the driveshaft bearings can fail. That can cause a sudden loss of drive power and raises the risk of a crash.

Authorized Honda dealers will inspect and repair the transmission case as necessary, at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2024. For questions, contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870 and reference recall KR0. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
