Mercedes-Benz S 580 Recall 24V807: Emergency Call System May Fail to Contact Help

NHTSA campaign 24V807, reported October 25, 2024, 21 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The emergency call system in certain 2021 luxury sedans may fail to place an automatic or manual call during a crash or emergency, and may not send the vehicle's location to responders as intended. The software in the communication module is the cause of the problem.

Because the system may not connect to emergency services or identify where the vehicle is, help could be delayed after a crash or other emergency. A delay like this can increase the risk of injury to occupants.

Authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers will update the communication module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed December 6, 2024. You can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372, referencing recall number 2024110002, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
