Orange EV E-Triever Recall 24V800: Manuals wrongly say cab e-stop cuts high voltage; shock risk

NHTSA campaign 24V800, reported October 24, 2024, 1,334 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The owner, emergency response, operator, maintenance and service manuals for certain Orange EV T-Series electric trucks and e-TRIEVER terminal trucks incorrectly state that the emergency stop button in the cab will shut off and lock out the high voltage system. Following these instructions could leave someone believing the high voltage system is de-energized when it is not.

This error creates a risk of electric shock, which can cause injury. Anyone relying on the manuals to make the truck safe before working on or near the high voltage system should not assume the cab emergency stop has done so.

Orange EV will provide corrected emergency response, operator and maintenance manuals and add additional warning labels at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. For help, contact Orange EV customer service at 1-866-688-5223, referencing recall 2024-SRC-01, and check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
