NHTSA campaign 24V799, reported October 24, 2024, 50 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

This recall covers certain fire apparatus vehicles where a mechanical stop may be missing from the cab tilt system. Without that stop, the cab tilt cylinder can be overextended, which may cause the cab to drop.

A dropping cab increases the risk of injury to people working on or around the vehicle. Owners should stop tilting the cab until the vehicle has been checked, and should check their VIN for open recalls.

Dealers will inspect the cab tilt cylinder and replace it as needed at no cost to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed November 19, 2024. For questions, contact Spartan Fire customer service at 1-517-543-6400 and reference recall number 24014.
