Volvo VNL (4) Recall 24V791: Software error may hide ABS warning light, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 24V791, reported October 23, 2024, 1 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software error in the instrument cluster may prevent the anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light from illuminating. This means the light may not come on even when there is an ABS malfunction, and the vehicle also fails to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 for air brake systems.

Because the warning light may not alert the driver to a problem with the ABS, a malfunction could go unnoticed, which could increase the risk of a crash.

If you own this vehicle, check your VIN for open recalls and contact Volvo Customer Service at 1-800-528-6586, referencing recall number RVXX2410. An authorized dealer will reprogram the software free of charge.
