Suzuki GSX1300R Recall 24V769: Brake Master Cylinder Can Block Fluid Flow, Extending Stopping Distance

NHTSA campaign 24V769, reported October 16, 2024, 6,338 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Rubber components inside the front brake master cylinder may swell after contamination from the brake fluid cap diaphragm. This can block the brake fluid port, so the motorcycle may need a longer distance to stop, which raises the risk of a crash. The motorcycle also does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 122 for motorcycle brake systems.

Authorized Suzuki dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder body and the brake fluid cap diaphragm at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. If you have questions, you can contact Suzuki Customer Service at 1-714-572-1490 and reference recall 3A04.

This recall expands and replaces previous recall 23V-088. Motorcycles already repaired under 23V-088 must still have the new remedy completed. Check your VIN for open recalls and schedule the free repair with a dealer as soon as possible.
