What this recall means for you
The instrument panel screen in these vehicles may fail because of a software error. When it does, it can stop showing critical information such as the speedometer and warning lights. The vehicles also do not meet the federal standard for controls and displays, FMVSS 101.
A blank or incomplete instrument panel can leave you without speed and warning information while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. The fix is a software update to the instrument cluster, and it is free. A dealer can perform it, or it may be delivered over the air. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024.
Check whether your vehicle is affected by entering your VIN at the NHTSA recall site or by contacting Kia Customer Service at 1-800-333-4542, referencing recall SC326. If your vehicle is included, schedule the free software update with an authorized Kia dealer.
