GMC Savana Cutaway Van Recall 24V702: Brake Line May Rub Body Mount and Leak Fluid

What this recall means for you

Some Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Cutaway vans have a brake line that may not have enough clearance from certain body mounts. Over time, the line can be damaged, which can cause a brake fluid leak.

Dealers will inspect the brake line and replace it as necessary, free of charge. A second notice will be mailed once the remedy is ready, which is anticipated around February 28, 2025. Problem
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Chevrolet Express Cutaway and GMC Savana Cutaway vehicles equipped with optional GM-provided body mounts (RPO BNC). The brake line may have insufficient clearance to the body mounts, which can result in brake line damage that can lead to a brake fluid leak.
Risk
A brake fluid leak can result in brake failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the brake line as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed November 5, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available, anticipated February 28, 2025.
