What this recall means for you
Certain Trans Tech school buses from model years 2018 and 2019 may have emergency exit windows that do not open if the bus rolls over. This means the bus does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 220 for school bus rollover protection.
An emergency exit window that fails to open can make it harder for occupants to get out after a rollover, which increases the risk of injury. Owners of affected buses should contact Trans Tech customer service at 1-845-988-2333. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2024.
Authorized dealers will inspect the emergency exit windows and repair them as necessary at no cost to the owner. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your bus is affected.
