What this recall means for you
A software error in the air bag control module can cause the front air bags to deploy with more force than intended during a crash. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, which governs occupant crash protection.
An air bag that deploys with excessive force can increase the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger, even in a crash where the bags would otherwise help protect occupants.
The remedy is free. Authorized dealers will update the air bag control module software at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 26, 2025. You can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403, and you should check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
