Ford Bronco Sport Recall 24V683: Low 12-volt battery may go undetected, risking power loss

NHTSA campaign 24V683, reported September 13, 2024, 76 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2024 Bronco Sport vehicles have body and powertrain control modules that may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery's state of charge. If the battery charge drops low without being detected, electrical accessories such as the hazard lights can lose power, or the vehicle can lose drive power, which increases the risk of a crash.

A dealer will update the body control module and powertrain control module software at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 23, 2024. If your vehicle was previously recalled for the same issue under 24V-267, it will still need the new remedy performed.

To confirm whether your vehicle is affected, check your VIN for open recalls, or contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 24S60.
