Altec Aerial Device Recall 24V681: Ignition Circuit Overload Can Stall Engine, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 24V681, reported September 12, 2024, 968 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2023 and 2024 Altec aerial device, digger derrick, and pressure digger trucks may have an overloaded chassis ignition circuit. The overload can blow a fuse and cause the engine to shut down while the vehicle is in operation.

An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Owners should be aware of this risk, especially when operating these vehicles on the road or near work zones.

Altec will rewire the accessory circuit free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 8, 2024. You can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 (recall number CSN-3185), and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
