Nova Bus LFS Recall 24V657: Bus Heater Can Short Out, Fire Risk; Windshield Defrost May Fail

What this recall means for you

Certain Nova Bus LFS and LFS Artic buses may have an auxiliary heater module that allows contaminants to enter the electronic controller. This can cause an electrical short, and the auxiliary heater may also fail, leaving the windshield defrosting system unable to work properly.

An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire. A defrosting system that does not function properly can reduce the driver's visibility, which increases the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus will replace the auxiliary heater air intake free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners can contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682 and reference recall number CR5637. You can also check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.

Problem
Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2024 LFS and 2019-2023 LFS Artic buses. The auxiliary heater module may allow contaminants to enter the electronic controller, which can cause an electrical short. Additionally, the auxiliary heater may fail, causing the defrosting system to not function properly.
Risk
An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a windshield defrosting system that does not function properly can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Nova Bus will the auxiliary heater air intake, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5637.
