Endera School Bus Recall 24V630: Rear emergency exit door can close unexpectedly

NHTSA campaign 24V630, reported August 22, 2024, 18 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rear emergency exit door on these school buses has a gas shock that is too weak for the weight of the door. As a result, the door can close on its own without warning. This can increase the risk of injury and means the bus does not meet federal bus emergency exit requirements.

Owners should contact an authorized Endera dealer to have the gas strut replaced with a standard locking mechanism. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 11, 2024. You can also call Endera customer service at 419-523-3593 for help. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
