Winnebago Minnie Recall 24V617: Microwave wiring can overload and cause fire

NHTSA campaign 24V617, reported August 16, 2024, 210 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The microwave in certain travel trailers may have been wired to a 20-amp breaker instead of the correct 15-amp setup. This can overload the wire, creating a risk of fire.

An overloaded wire can overheat and ignite nearby materials, which is why this condition is treated as a serious safety issue. Owners should stop using the microwave and contact an authorized dealer if they have concerns.

The remedy is free. An authorized dealer will replace the 20-amp breaker with a 15-amp breaker at no cost to you. Owner notification letters were mailed October 10, 2024. You can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-825-5250 for help, and check your VIN for open recalls.
