Motiv E-450 BEV Chassis School Bus Recall 24V603: Bus Can Lose Drive Power Due to Damaged Wiring

NHTSA campaign 24V603, reported August 12, 2024, 6 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2021-2023 Motiv E-450 electric school buses with the Gen 5 EPIC powertrain may have Controller Area Network (CAN) signal wires that contact the frame rail. Over time, this contact can damage the wires and cause a loss of drive power.

A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. If your bus is affected, Motiv field support technicians will inspect the wiring, repair any loose wiring, and replace damaged CAN wiring as needed. The repair is free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 5, 2024. You can contact Motiv customer service at 1-650-458-4804, and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
